We had waited long enough. The time had come. We headed down to Williamsburg, in Brooklyn, and behave like the vintage shopping, retro camera toting hipsters we were born to be.

We hopped off the subway at Nassau Avenue and walked down past the Brooklyn Brewery to Beacon’s Closet. A very nicely arranged, if somewhat hectic vintage store. After browsing for a while, I came out with a Breton striped dress, which will look super chic with some ballet pumps and a nice blazer.

We continued wandering the streets, shopping a little here and there, and with Ben picking up compliments left right and centre on his camera. People in the US certainly aren’t afraid of paying compliments to strangers!

Finally, we moved on, taking a pleasant walk through Cadman Plaza Park before meeting some friends for lunch at Shake Shack. Next up, we strolled through Brooklyn Heights before enjoying an ice cream in Dumbo before taking the East River Ferry home.
